Reading Tutoring
One-on-one reading tutoring from a special education teacher — online, flexible, and unlike any other tutoring: your child’s tutor hears them read every single day.
Why This Tutoring Is Different
Most tutoring is one hour a week — and then six days of nothing. Smart Steps tutoring flips that. Your child practices 10–15 minutes a day in our reading apps, reading out loud and recording themselves. A real teacher listens to those recordings every single day, circles the exact words your child missed, and the app walks your child through fixing them before anything new. Little mistakes get caught in a day — instead of becoming habits.
It’s like piano lessons: daily practice, plus a teacher who actually hears the practice. That’s how struggling readers become readers.
Who It's For
Beginning readers, struggling readers, and older kids (8+) who are tired of programs that feel babyish. Every student works in the Smart Steps app that matches their exact level — from first letters to fluent reading — with a teacher’s ear on their progress daily. All tutoring is online, so it works from anywhere.
